Barra Honda

A constant drip of rainwater on the calcium carbonate has created this breathtaking underground ecosystem”

• An intricate system of limestone caverns.
• Barra Honda consists mostly of 60-million-year-old coral reef.
• It looms 300 meters above Tempisique Valley at a height of 450 meters.

Venado Caverns

A marvelous network of caverns located in the northern part of Costa Rica, as the result of both tectonic shifting and a forceful underground river.

• 2,700-meter stretch of limestone caves is thought to have formed some 15 to 20 million years ago
• Brought to the surface following further tectonic movement millions of years ago.
• An underground mystic river.
• Stalactites, stalagmites and chorales.
